Two anchor standards of the Common Core Writing Standards are described in this product for grades K-6. Ideas for bringing technology and revision into the classroom are described at all levels. Each standard is stated with three examples of activities that can be done in the classroom!
CCSS.ELA‐Literacy.W.K.6 With guidance and support from adults, explore a variety of digital tools to produce and publish writing, including in collaboration with peers.
1. Students use computer programs such as Tux Paint or Kid Pix to create illustrations.
2. Publish a class book on a particular topic together. Students can create the illustrations using computer programs and the teacher can type up the class’ ideas.
3. Students can create online stories through Little Bird Tales, Storybird, and Voicethread. These online programs allow them to record their voice over their illustrations and create files that can be sent to family members or teachers.
