Common Core Writing- October

In this pack you will find writing prompts that address the three Text Type Purposes as outlined in the Common Core Standards for first grade, second grade, and third grade. There are six prompts each for:

*Opinion Writing
*Informative/Explanatory Writing
*Narrative Writing

Also included you will find six prompts for Creative writing, for a total of 24 writing station cards! All cards come in color and black and white options. Lined paper and organizers are also included for you to use with the cards in your writing center.

These cards bring the perfect combination of choice and structure to writing time! I allow my students to pick whichever card/type they want as long as they are doing a different type of writing each time. The prompts will not specifically teach each type of writing, but they ensure that your students are practicing all four types every month!

October Themes Include: Pumpkins, Fire Safety, Halloween, Bats, Spiders
