First Grade Common Core Aligned Writing Packet
This set is a bundle of writing lesson plans, bulletin board ideas, and graphic organizers, - and MUCH, MUCH MORE - that I have used with my first graders.
These lessons will allow your students to
BRAINSTORM – PLAN (graphic organizers that THEY use) – and WRITE
This is a method I have used with my first graders for years.
1.) Lesson Plans – these are not formal plans, just a simple outline of how the lesson can be taught.
2.) BULLETIN BOARD IDEAS that go with Student Writing Samples – for those moments when you realize you need to change your board –NOW!
3.) RUBRICS - for each type of writing – I made these editable (and PDF) so you can tailor them to fit your needs (if needed). They also print 2 per page to save you some paper!
4.) ANCHOR CHARTS – Opinion, Narrative, and Informational Writing
5.) I Have an Opinion! – Whole class activity
6.) Graphic Organizers for EVERY lesson that your will students use!
7.) Common Core Standards for First Grade Writing Signs!
8.)Black Line Masters of Graphic Organizers that you can open and insert text boxes and create your own writing graphic organziers!
9.) Independent Writing Practice – Usable for Centers or Homework
10.) Writing paper for each activity.
*This entire file, (aside from the cover pages for each section and Anchor Charts), is created “copy machine friendly” as I call it; meaning – it’s all in black and white.*
*Most of the pages have the Common Core Standard on the bottom, so it will be easy for you to reinforce that standard throughout your lesson!*
