This Writing Prompt was created using different text excerpts involving Hurricanes. One text is an article written by a news station detailing the most important Hurricane Safety Reminders. The other article is a portion of a Reading Literature story telling about a family that decided to sit through a storm instead of evacuating.
This sample writing prompt allows students to practice writing an opinion essay in preparation for standardized testing. The format of this writing prompt follows the same format as the transitional iLEAP/LEAP/PARCC assessment.
