PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

In "Common Idioms with Food as a Theme" students are given a definition of "idiom" and eight examples of foods regularly used in them (i.e., nutshell, beans, pie, apples, bananas, tea, cheese, and eggshells). Students are required to explain the meanings of the idioms and then account for how people use them in everyday speech. This activity has proven to be a useful exercise in many English and Language Arts classes and has also served as an introduction to idioms for ESL students. All of this is done through a reliable and easily accessible website, which has been included at the bottom of the exercise.
