This is a free slide presentation that I made for German speakers learning English as a foreign language. I see many, many mistakes made with prepositions, and this presentation is a fun look at the most common preposition mistakes.
I've drawn some fun "mistake doodles" of
"I go with the car"
"I'm sitting on my desk"
"The girl on the painting"
to illustrate what NOT to say!
This presentation is in German only, but my blog can be read in both German and English by clicking on the language buttons:
For teachers who teach English and German, it gives you a good perspective of the problems that learners have when learning English.
This presentation is FREE and is designed to educate and encourage. Please leave me a comment if you would like to see more free presentations like this one. Feel free to share and like!
The preposition -BY- in the sentence "I go by car" is, grammatically speaking, NOT a preposition but an adverb. I always include this sentence when I teach prepositions because Germans have a hard time distinguishing the English preposition -BY- from their own preposition "BEI" which is used for location.
