Now your students can practice common and proper nouns and ENJOY the practice! This fun pack has several activities that are not the usual "find the noun in the sentence" type of practice.
PLEASE NOTE: This item is also included in The Ultimate Noun Bundle at a special, discounted rate. This 143 page bundle includes engaging activities on ALL SIX TYPES of nouns in one, easy-to-use resource!
PLEASE NOTE that this version has similar activities to "Less Mess" Nouns Interactive Notebook Activities which have been redesigned in the "Less Mess" interactive notebook form. If you own the notebook already, many of these activities will be repeated. If you have questions before purchase about the similarity, just let me know!
Included activities/pages are:
1. Common and Proper Posters- Two colorful posters with a gumball theme that are perfect to display in your classroom while studying common and proper nouns
2. Honeycomb Common and Proper Nouns
Here's the latest BUZZ: Students love to color! They never seem to get tired of it. When you combine a skill they're learning with coloring, it magically becomes "fun." :) That inspired me to create this honeycomb coloring activity. Students identify common and proper nouns in sentences and then color the honeycomb accordingly using the key. An answer key is provided.
Special note: This activity is also sold individually HERE.
3. Pirate Treasure Hunt for Nouns
Ahoy, mateys! This noun challenge works well individually, in partners, in small groups, in centers, etc. It will create great conversation about parts of speech in the classroom!
Both jewel sheets (common and proper) have ten "hidden treasures" which are actually nouns that students must figure out. The first letter and last letter of each noun is provided. Students then record their answers on provided answer keys (included in both color and black/white).
I have also included a key with some possible answers, but your students may find numerous words that will unlock the secrets behind the hidden treasure!
4. Common and Proper Word Search Challenge
Engage your students with this fun word search puzzle while they practice nouns at the same time! Proper nouns are provided, and students must change the proper nouns into common nouns (the first letters are provided as clues). Students must then find the common nouns in the puzzle.
5. Proper Nouns in Hiding
Several proper nouns are hiding (disguised as common nouns). Students must find them, capitalize their first letters, and color code them accordingly. These pages have a gumball theme.
6. Common and Proper Nouns from A to Z
Challenge students and see if they can think of a common and proper noun for each letter of the alphabet. This works well as a small group or partner activity!
