Product Description
This practice set for writing errors has fifty sentences that cover common grammar, language, and punctuation errors. These cover the most common writing errors my students face.

Specifically, this writing error bundle provides explanations of different problems along with practice sentences: run-on sentences, comma splices, fragments, wordiness, comma placement with introductory elements, misplaced modifiers, and dangling modifiers.

* 30 sentences to correct incomplete sentences. Fragments, run-ons, and comma splices are defined.
* 10 sentences to correct dangling and misplaced modifiers. Misplaced and dangling modifiers are defined.
* 10 sentences to practice comma placement. This is NOT all comma rules; this practice only covers introductory phrases or clauses. Rules are covered at the top of the page.
* 10 sentences with wordiness. Students must find ways to rewrite the sentences.
* Answer key for all fifty sentences.

These writing errors cover many seventh and eighth grade language standards, but I use these with high school writers who struggle with these concepts. In the preview, you should see samples of two sheets and how the top of the activity has definitions and examples.

Through practice, students will (hopefully!) identify similar errors in their own writing. Since the set is divided by concept, I will often divide students to work on certain numbers and differentiate from there.
