This 35 page product has four common/proper noun sorts, a common/proper noun identification coloring page with a color code, a short text for students to highlight proper nouns, two anchor posters, and an answer key for the short text piece. In addition, it has page that is great for lower level students to circle proper and common nouns. See below for the newly added activities including a game, sorting cards, and a fun foldable.
I have also added a flower craft. The idea is to have the kids make a common noun flower and a proper noun flower. I included several flower pot template choices and a photo of how a finished project could look. Kids can design their flower pots any way they choose. Just added: a page with "bubble cut" flowers for those students who have difficulty maneuvering scissors.
Each of the activity pages have cute coordinating graphics. The colored graphics reproduce fine for the kid's use in class. An option to copying the pages would be to laminate them, put them into a pocket folder, and provide wipe-off markers for a literacy center.
NEW: I added 18 sorting cards, recording sheet to do "read the room", sorting mats, anchor posters, a game that includes directions & key, an interactive notebook flip-up, ESL Insights, a guide for using this product with ELLs, and core standards.
Here are the standards covered for grades 1-2:
Capitalize dates and names of people
Sort words into categories (e.g., colors, clothing) to gain a sense of the concepts the categories represent
Use common, proper, and possessive nouns
Capitalize holidays, product names, and geographic names
