Product Descriptions:

1. Functional Sign Language Parts One and Two:

✦I created these visual references of 40 functional signs for my non-verbal students with autism, parents, and staff members who work with the children. After I started learning signs and teaching my students I realized that the signs would not be useful if not generalized across settings. So I created printables to send home to parents, as well as hand out to our specialist teachers (gym, art, music) and any other staff who worked with the students. Includes:

✧Visual Reference Sheets

40 Functional Signs. Great printables to send home to parents, specialist teachers, and any other caregivers who work with the child! Includes instructions for the more difficult signs. There are 8 visual reference sheets.

✧Individual Posters

Large posters of each sign (one sign per poster) and instructions for the more difficult signs.

✧Worksheets

Practice learning the signs with match the picture to the word worksheets. Worksheets are differentiated (draw a line to match and use a word bank to match.) There are also cut/ paste worksheets (match the sign to word.) A total of 24 worksheets.

✧Flashcards

Flashcards for all 40 signs. For best use, print flashcards on cardstock and laminate. You can put them on a key ring for portable use.

The signs included are:

Yes, No, More, Please, Thank You, Help, Stop, Sorry, Hungry, Bathroom, Eat, Drink, Hurt, Good, Bad, Want, Don't Want, Mine, Finished, Play, Angry, Sick, Sad, Happy, Tired, Where, What, When, Hot, Cold, Coat, Home, Look-At-That, Work, Friend, Wait, Soon, Homework, Open, Close

2. Conversation Skills Includes:

✫Conversation Expectations Posters:

seven conversation visuals to aid students who have difficulty with conversation skills. Includes six individual posters and one poster with all visuals on it. There is also a poster of common responses to use during conversation. Use during conversation/ language groups or in natural contexts. Use in conjunction with the conversation activities in this pack.

✫Conversation Scripts:

Includes ten different topics and card sets.

✬Topics are:

Movies, Animals, Sports, TV Shows, Dreams, Summer Break, Holidays, Transportation, School, and Holidays

First, students fill in the blanks on the cards. Then, cut out the cards and work in pairs. Make sure one student has the “initiation card” and the other has the “response card.” These cards are great for prompts when students get stuck or for students who need to read directly from the cards to develop conversation skills.

✫Social Questions/ Conversation Starters:

Includes twenty question cards that can be used to practice social questions individually or used to spark conversation topics during social/ language groups. You can cut, laminate, put on a key ring, and use one set for individual practice or group conversation practice. Another option is for students to write their answers on the back of each card and practice asking/ answering with each other.

✫Conversation Picture Boards:

Includes ten conversation picture cards that can be used as visuals to aid in conversation skills during social/ language groups. Visuals can be used in conjunction with the other activities in this pack.

✬Topics are:

Pets, Farm Animals, Zoo Animals, Restaurants, Stores, Transportation, School Sports, Snacks, and Holidays/ Celebrations
