Product Description
This K-2 interactive Common Core aligned thematic unit promotes word identification and basic knowledge of the farming profession. It is a completely self-contained Tech App providing a seamless integration of technology into the classroom or homeschool. The Tech App works on any PC having a Windows operating system and retains its interactive capabilities when displayed on a monitor, standard projector, interactive projector, or interactive whiteboard.

This thematic unit contains 26 pages including a table of contents, a theme definition page, a theme related story, an anchor chart, and theme related activities and exercises. The interactive activities and exercises include comprehensive skills and strategies that students are confronted with on standardized tests. Each section can be used as a mini-lesson, brainstorming tool, concept review, worksheet instruction, writing example, or test prep.

This Tech App develops reading and vocabulary skills and helps students remember connections between words / concepts and subject matter. It solicits active participation and discussion by students and displays the type of prompting some students require. It can be used as a tool for individual learning, in group learning centers, an instruction aide for the teacher, or self-directed learning.

Common core standards have been adopted by 46 states to ensure that all students are prepared for college or a career, regardless of where they attended school. This curriculum encourages integration of all subject areas in a lesson and more student participation. All my products facilitate both goals.

K.MD.2: Directly compare two objects with a measurable attribute in common, to see which object has “more of” / “less of” the attribute, and describe the difference.
K.MD.3: Classify objects into given categories; count the numbers of objects in each category and sort the categories by count.
K.G.I: Describe objects in the environment using shapes.
L.K.5.c: Identify real life connection between words and their use.
L.K.5: Sort common objects into categories to gain a sense of the concepts the categories represent.
W.K.2: Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose formative/ explanatory text in which they name what they are writing about and supply information about the topic.
L.K.6: Use words and phrases acquired through conversations, reading and being read to and respond to the text.
K.W.8: With guidance and support from adults, recall information from experiences or gather information from provided sources to answer a question.

Each thematic unit comes with a User Guide providing instructions on tool bar and application use, and suggested extended activities.

All art work is original and uses a purposeful style that engages the students and encourages them to draw their own pictures and exercise creative thinking skills.
