An interactive, effective, large-group/whole class language learning strategy for practicing reading, listening, and speaking skills.
All cards are passed out to students. They have to MIX around the room, FREEZE and discuss their cards with a neighbor, and try to find their MATCH. (Sentence frames could be provided to encourage academic language)

Students match community workers with their roles. (2-5 players)
This activity focuses on the social studies theme of "Community Workers" and can be used as an informal assessment, to practice vocabulary and concept attainment, or as an interactive review. Both games are great for ELL students.
