Community Helpers – Detective Dan and the Case of Who Does that Job? - Cut and Paste
This pack is now available in a Community Helpers Bundle
saving you 26%!
In this 10 page pack, students will help Detective Dan solve the Case of Who Does that Job. Each page includes three clues/phrases for two different community helpers. Students are to read the three short clues/phrases for each community helper and decide which community helper is described. The entire pack includes clues for twenty different community helpers (two per page). After students decide which community helper is described by the clues/phrases, they cut and glue the picture of the correct community helper in the space provided under the clues. Pictures of four different community helpers are shown at the bottom of each page for the choices. Two of the pictures will not be used because they do not fit the clues.
If time does not permit students to cut and paste, students may simply write the answer to the clues/phrases in the boxes provided after viewing the four answer choices.
The 10 pages are shown in the preview.
Clues are provided for the following 20 community helpers: crossing guard, doctor, mailman, fireman, chef, mechanic, nurse, policeman, teacher, trash collector, vet, farmer, forest ranger, lifeguard, miner, ski guide, tour guide, waiter, waitress, and fisherman.
There are many uses for these community helper clues/phrases. They can be used in a kindergarten class with the teacher reading the clues/phrases and having the students cut and paste the correct answer. They can also be used for independent reading practice in first or second grade by letting students read the clues/phrases and cut and glue the correct answer for each clue.
These community helper clues are great for guided reading groups, homework, a mini lesson, or literacy center activities.
I hope your students enjoy these community helper clues.
