24 community helper inference skills task cards that introduce drawing conclusions and using pictures as context clues. Each card has a few sentences and a picture that corresponds with each scenario. Students are asked a simple question based on the scenario and picture.
These are a great way to assess a new student's reading ability and skills. Keep coming back to the cards throughout the year to measure progress and growth!
Use a few cards at a time in a literacy group or put these on the smart board and use as a whole group lesson. You can even use these as a side enrichment activity for early finishers to work on with a partner. Students will love feeling like they answered the unknown on each card!
