pp4-17: Community Helpers Posters
pp18-26: Build-Your-Own-Helper game: open-ended game; laminate game pieces on pp 26-28, cut out, and place face down in a pile. Have students pick the mat they want to use, and after each turn, students can choose a game piece from the pile and see if it matches their community helper mat. The first person to complete their mat wins!
pp27-33: Inference cards with visuals
pp34-40 “Go Togethers”
PP42-44: Use as visuals with “who” cards, or print two sets to use as a Memory Game
pp41-52: WH questions activity: Use the mailbox on p41; cut out white rectangle on dashed lines; attach mailbox to a box of sorts and cut an opening the same size as the mailbox opening. Answer the questions on the “envelopes” before dropping them in the mailbox. Additional Option: Cut out community helper cards on pp42-44; after answering the “who” questions, place the envelopes with the correct community helper so they can “get their mail.”
PP52-57: Yes/No Question cards
PP58-63: 5 Bingo Cards & set of calling cards
PP 64-67: Sort the uniform items/tools/vehicles to the correct community helper
PP 67-69: 3 sets of Community Helper Cariboo cards
PP 70-71: Roll & Cover Pronouns: Roll a die, find a picture that has the number that corresponds with the number rolled; create a sentence using correct pronouns, and color the picture afterwards. See who can color their whole board first!
