Community Helpers Social Studies Lesson Plans

This unit teaches first graders about the occupations in their community. They will discuss why different careers are important, the roles of various professionals, and the consequences of community helpers not preforming their duties. This unit consists of four 30-45 minute lessons. In addition to the four lesson plans, there are 9 informational reading comprehension passages, a 6 page interactive emergent reader, and a writing craftivity template for each community helper.
