In this packet are 32 addition fact cards that display the commutative property. Each card has an addition sentence and a corresponding unifix cube picture. These cards could be used in several ways:
1) You could use them as a cooperative learning game where students trade cards until a bell is rung. When the bell is rung they have to find their matching card and link arms with that person.
2) Or they could be used as a math center, where students play a memory game, matching cards that demonstrate the commutative property.
3) You could also use them as a show down prompt, where you would show a card, and the students would have to write the corresponding commutative property fact and show.
Lots of different ways these versatile cards can be used to teach your students the commutative property!
