Help your students practice the commutative property with this math station. Great for small group work or math learning center practice.
Five activities are included for this math activity/ station set:
Fill in the missing addend—either leave intact as a practice mat and slip into a page protector sleeve, or cut apart to make cards to laminate. Students use dry erase markers to fill in the missing number.
As an extension, have students place the matching sum snail on each side of the equation to show that the sums are equal.
There is a blank set so that students could choose an addition flashcard and write the equation, then flip the addends. They could write the sums on the blank snails to show the equivalence. (Flashcards not included)
Three practice pages—cut and glue to make equal.
Three fill-in-the-blank practice pages for you to assess student learning, or to use in small groups to reteach the concept.
There is also a commutative property work mat to use with flashcards or math manipulatives.
