"Como la vida misma" packet is utilizing the story in chunks (chunking technique) to facilatate comprehhension. After each chunk there are reading comprehension questions. Part 2 is a grammar review in which students have to look up grammar points in the story (noticing activity) and write them down (writing activity). Lastly, students have a writing prompt (creative writing).
