This lesson is designed for middle school students studying art history. This is a lesson from Unit 3, covering The Modernist artists of several movements. Students view the artworks and after discussion, organize their comparison using a heart-shaped Venn diagram and create a written personal response to an open-ended (constructed response) question with 4 bullets. This course supports the language arts curriculum, and addresses writing activities for state testing. Included are an art project inspired by the artist and a Valentine’s Day card for students to create and give out.
