Compare and Contrast
Compare & Contrast Writing with Non-Fiction Texts is sure to help bring out the best writer in your middle grades student.
This extensive 99 page resource is jam-packed with material that will help you guide your students thinking as they learn to craft excellent compare and contrast responses to non-fiction texts.
Teaching kids to effectively compare and contrast two different ideas, characters, passages, or bodies of information can be a challenge. Given the limited amount of time we have in the classroom and the seemingly endless amount of content to cover, I like to “tie together” the curriculum as much as possible as to maximize my efforts and student learning. That being said, I have found that using short non-fiction passages to teach kids to compare and contrast is very effective.
