Product Description
These three options of graphic organizers help your students scaffold the process of comparing any discipline's complex concepts, themes, or problems. Comparison naturally includes contrasting within it. Cognitively, students need to know why the similarities and differences matter to the big ideas as a whole. This resource includes small chunks and then a final complex graphic organizer that will ask them to draw conclusions and truly show their depth of understanding about their learning. Finally, I have included sentence stems to adapt this from a graphic organizer into a full discussion or a written assessment of learning. Students will also self-asses their depth of knowledge through a clear rubric based on production behaviors.

Doodling allows the brain to think freely and get creative energy flowing, while staying focused on academics! Students at varying levels of comprehension may need different pages to process. Use them to differentiate or give them in layers for students to scaffold their way toward deeper understanding.

The generic nature of this product allows it to adapt to any instructional level or content area. Learning targets include:
I can list several relevant similarities and differences between {a} and {b}
I can give several reasons why they are the same or different; and
I can also make a generalization about the concepts as a whole.

Enjoy!
