Use this worksheet and cut and paste activity to review the differences between mitosis and meiosis in high school biology class. The two processes are very difficult for some students to understand and especially when they are taught together in the same unit (and they often are!) On the one page summary, printed legal size, there is a straightforward diagram that helps the students visually see the differences between mitosis and meiosis. They label each cell with either “haploid” or “diploid" and the correct number of chromosomes.

This resource just had a major update: the cut and paste activity was just added!

The cut and paste activity is great for students to compare in detail Meiosis 1 and Mitosis.

Lesson Contents:

Pages 1: Cutting paste with phases from Mitosis and Meiosis I (letter size page)

Page 2: Pasting page (legal size)

Page 3: Answer Key to page 2

Page 4: Pasting page with the diagrams already inserted (to save you time if you just want students to write comparisons) (legal size)

Page 5: Mitosis and Meiosis Summary sheet (letter size)

Page 6: Answer Key to page 5
