No prep activities with visual to compare and contrast. These spinners with work mats make student differentiation easy with fun fall topics. Inside you'll find sets of spinners that include fall treats, apples, pumpkins, fraction pies, Halloween treats, Veterans, pilgrims, past/present, weather and clothing, geometric scarecrows, and fall leaves.

Why spinners perfect for compare and contrast:

  • Tap into critical thinking
  • Use oral language/ speaking and listening
  • Use the critical vocabulary found to enhance close reads
  • Never-ending and open-ended play! No more “I’m done!”

Use these no prep spinners in small groups and then move them to centers for endless options of play and learning about “compare” and “contrast”. The skills practiced with these spinners will grow as students learn to think outside of the box and use these critical vocabulary words, which lend themselves to more successful close reads of comparing and contrasting texts and text features.

Print the differentiated work mats and insert them into heavy-duty sheet protectors for dry erase markers to reuse over and over again in a center. Students draw their answers, write their answers or make their own spinner with stickers, stamps, drawings, letters/words.

If you have any questions, please leave them in the Q&A section before leaving feedback.
