Product Description
Compare and Contrast: This craftivity provides student with a memorable activity that will allow them to practice comparing and contrasting fiction elements. Also, once your students finish their craftivities, you can use them to create a bulletin board or school hallway display!

Students begin by reading a 1-page passage that tells about two events. When they are done reading, they create a Venn diagram that contrasts the two events. Then, using the Venn diagram, they construct an essay that compares and contrasts the two events. Finally, they use their materials to assemble a craftivity.

Student-friendly directions are included so that you can place the directions under your document camera, and students can refer to them as they complete the project. (An answer key is also included.)

This craftivity was created to specifically address Common Core State Standard RL.5.3: Compare and contrast two or more characters, settings, or events in a story or drama, drawing on specific details in the text (e.g., how characters interact). (The craftivity can be used with multiple upper elementary and middle school grade levels, though.)

Check out the PREVIEW! All of the included pages are shown.
