Compare and Contrast Interactive Notes & Compare My Teachers Activity

Introduce the skill of comparing and contrasting with notes that include definitions, compare words and phrases, contrast words and phrases, a venn diagram, and compare and contrast question stems.

When you've introduced the skill, engage the students in comparing and contrasting with an informational passage about two teachers. The idea is to compare and contrast two teachers that they know (and the blank venn diagrams for this are included), but I have also included a compare and contrast passage using two generic teachers if you need something quick and easy. It will also guide you in creating your own should you decide to go that route.

I have included suggestions which show a 5-day plan for this resource that includes students composing their own paragraphs based on what they learn about their teachers, using compare and contrast words and phrases, of course!
