Have your speech therapy or classroom students compare and contrast common objects with these picture task cards. Great for expressive and receptive language goals including students with Autism. Help them learn to describe similarities and differences. Includes both words and pictures for younger students.
This packet includes 32 compare and contrast picture cards, 16 written response compare and contrast worksheets for your older students, and some additional materials I have found to be helpful. I use these cards frequently with my students of all ages and hope they will be useful for you also!
Each compare/contrast picture card shows 2 items and asks how each item is the same and different. These cards can be tailored to the skill level of your students, and prompts can be provided as needed. For beginning skill levels, I generally ask how the two items are the same and lead with the cue “they both are….” or “they both have…”, etc. Then ask how the two items are different. These cards are also great to encourage detailed descriptions. Some students may be able to come up with only one similarity and difference, while others might have fun describing several same/different features.
