This download includes two reading passages. One is about President Abraham Lincoln. The other is about President George Washington.
Students read and answer comprehension questions about both presidents.
Students cut and paste sentences into a diagram/organizer to determine which sentences are only about Washington and which are only about Lincoln. The sentences that describe both must be placed in the both section.
Students use the compare and contrast diagram to write an essay to answer the prompt: How are President Lincoln and President Washington alike and different? Explain using evidence from the passages.
An answer key is provided for the cut and paste compare and contrast activity.
