Compare and Contrast Writing / Informational Writing and Research / Bats vs. Owls
With this engaging project, students will learn about bats and owls, write informational papers about them, compare and contrast the animals, and write a compare and contrast paper.
This research and writing project is great for fall, and it’s
especially fun around Halloween time!
The project could be implemented in several ways:
-For younger students, it could be a whole class shared/guided reading and writing project.
-Older students could conduct their own research with books and online resources, possibly in a reading/writing center.
-Half of the class could research and write about bats while the other half learns about owls. Students could partner up to share their research and work together to write the compare and contrast paper.
