Compare and Contrast Writing / Informational Writing and Research / Butterflies vs. Frogs
With this engaging project, students will learn about butterflies and frogs, write informational papers about them, compare and contrast the animals, and write a compare and contrast paper.
This fun research and writing project makes a great addition to an life cycle unit, especially at springtime!
The project could be implemented in several ways:
-For younger students, it could be a whole class shared/guided reading and writing project.
-Older students could conduct their own research with books and online resources, possibly in a reading/writing center.
-Half of the class could research and write about butterflies while the other half learns about frogs. Students could partner up to share their research and work together to write the compare and contrast paper.
