Compare and Contrast Writing / Informational Writing and Research / Sharks vs. Dolphins
With this engaging project, students will learn about sharks and dolphins, write informational papers about them, compare and contrast the animals, and write a compare and contrast paper.
This fun research and writing project makes a great addition to an ocean unit any time of year.
The project could be implemented in several ways:
-For younger students, it could be a whole class shared/guided reading and writing project.
-Older students could conduct their own research with books and online resources, possibly in a reading/writing center.
-Half of the class could research and write about sharks while the other half learns about dolphins. Students could partner up to share their research and work together to write the compare and contrast paper.
