I created this writing sample practice for my second grade ELL students. This would also be appropriate for upper grade beginners.
I tried to do it in the style of the WIDA ACCESS writing portion so that they would become more familiar with the style and expectations. For this prompt, students compare and contrast their lives with the life of pilgrim children.
