Description

Help your students master comparing and ordering numbers to 10000 with these task cards. There are 36 cards in all, asking students to:

♥ put a series of numbers in order from greatest to least

♥ create numbers by rolling dice and ordering

♥ fill in the blanks in consecutive number series

♥ find numbers in a series that are not in the correct order

♥ compare numbers using greater and less than symbols

There are several ways you can use these task cards. Here are some suggestions:

1) Play Scoot! Place the cards around the room. Give students a given amount of time (30 seconds or 1 minute) to answer, then yell “Scoot!” and they move to the next. For some cards, they will need scrap paper for work, or you can enlarge recording sheet.

2) Assign just yellow cards, or green, etc.

3) Have students pick 10 (or 15 etc) cards at random...

4) Use attached page to create a spinner. Pick a card from that colour pile.

For tasks 2, 3, 4 you could use attached recording sheet, or have students make a similar table in their math journal.
