Studying the Byzantine Empire? This engaging primary source activity asks students to compare elements of the Justinian Code to your state’s law code with scenarios. This resource contains QR codes and the URL links. Help your students to compare the past to the present with this activity. I teach in Georgia, so this comparison is to the Georgia Code of Law, but it’s editable, so you can change the QR Code to wherever you teach. The URL I provided has links to all the states in the US. Outside of the US, it’s not difficult to find the law codes for your provinces.
The QR Codes to the Georgia Law Code are hit or miss (it seems to be a website issue, so I’ve included a separate page with links for you to post for your students on Google Classroom or another LMS. The extra page directs them to the exact place the law is found if you are print only.
