PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This unit focuses on Comparing Shakespeare's play Much Ado about Nothing with Branaugh's 1993 film and Wheedon's 2012 film. It uses new ideas for analysis related to the Common Core standards by having students compare details from different interpretations.

You will need both films in order to get a whole picture of how the stories compare, but I have selected specific scenes to help you make comparisons. Those comparison's can be found as link and close readings on the documents within the folder.

All of the materials are editable - I encourage you to adapt it for your class or change to objectives for your needs. You may even use these examples for templates if you select additional scenes.

My students really enjoyed making comparisons with watching Shakespeare rather than reading the whole play. We did read parts of the original text in order to really dig deeply into the interpretations.
