Are you looking for an interesting and entertaining presentation for your class about comparing decimals? If so, this is the PowerPoint for you! There are 12 questions slides -- each has a question for students to answer independently. Once your students have answered the question, click the mouse to have the answer revealed.
This is an electronic version of a Gallery Walk activity that I use with my students (I use this presentation to answer the questions after my students have done the Gallery Walk activity). If you are interested in a hard copy of this activity (for use alone or in conjunction with this presentation), please see the related products list below. The materials for this activity can be found in both the "Decimals Lesson Unit" and "Decimals Activities & Worksheets" packets.
An abbreviated version of the presentation is available as a free download so that you can have a better idea if this will work for you.
**If you teach in Virginia, this unit of study specifically correlates to Math SOL 4.3
I have several related products for sale (which all correlate to SOL 4.3) if you are interested:
DECIMAL LESSON UNIT
-This is a complete unit for teaching about identifying, rounding, and comparing decimals. It includes a unit timeline for 17 days of instruction, note pages with teacher guides, class activities (cooperative and differentiated), class practice problems, worksheets with answer keys, and a culminating test with answer key. **The activity materials, homework worksheets, and unit test are the same as those in the “Decimal Activities & Worksheets” product available for sale in my listings.
DECIMAL ACTIVITIES & WORKSHEETS
-This is an abbreviated version of the lesson unit. It only includes the activity materials, homework worksheets, and unit test. It does not include the unit timeline, the note pages, the full differentiated activity lessons, or the class practice problems. **The activity materials, homework worksheets, and unit test are the same as those in the “Decimal Lesson Unit” product available for sale in my listings.
IDENTIFYING DECIMALS - QUESTIONS PRESENTATION
-This is an electronic version of the Identifying Decimals Gallery Walk activity. I usually use the presentation to check student answers after they have completed the gallery walk activity. It can also be used on its own however. Students can answer the question on the screen, then the answer is provided when the mouse is clicked.
DECIMALS & FRACTIONS POWERPOINT PRESENTATION
-This presentation has two parts--(1) a lesson section reviewing how to convert decimals to fractions and vice versa; and (2) a practice section where students are shown problems on the screen which they solve at their desks, then check their answers when the mouse is clicked.
