This is a fun Easter themed activity for students to do to practice comparing fractions. All of the directions are included in the product. You will need to purchase a package of 48 plastic eggs if you do not already have some.
Break students up into six teams (each team gets 8 eggs). Number each team's eggs with their team number. Print, cut, and place the problem slips into each of the eggs for all teams. Scatter the eggs all over the classroom, school, or playground. Students then work with their team members to find the eggs with their team number on them. Once they find an egg, they solve the problem inside. Students should answer with >, <, or =. Once a team has found all their eggs and solved their problems, check their answers. If they have any incorrect, they need to fix them. Once all problems are correct, the students may be rewarded with a small treat or prize, if you like.
