Comparing Fractions can be tricky for students. I have provided the sheet I use during introduction and my instruction. This is not for practice or a worksheet. This is great for instruction or a small group lesson.
This instruction piece requires the students to read a word problem involving two fractions. The students must compare the fractions using a bar model, number line, and finding equivalent fractions. This allows the students to have three ways to solve the same problem. My students loved seeing the connections between the three ways.
