In this game, students will compare two fractional quantities.
Students will roll a dice and move their game piece that many spaces. Then, they will chose a game card. They will either remain where their game piece currently is located or they will move forward or backwards depending on directions on the game card (the game cards will ask students to compare fractions, and then either move their game piece forward or backward depending on whether their fraction is greater or less than the fraction on the game card).
In order to finish the game, a student must answer a finish line question.
Materials not included: Dice and Game Pieces (In my own classroom, I use snap cubes as game pieces).
This is a great activity for practicing simple comparisons of fractional quantities.
