This product is a set of 20 task cards that allow students to compare fractions using models, number lines, creating common denominators, and cross multiplication method to check. This product provides students with basic practice, but also has them answer higher level questions to apply their knowledge of the concept. They must justify some of their answers, draw models to explain, etc.
To make this activity fun and engaging, students scan the QR code which will pull up a question for them to answer.
A recording sheet is included for students and an answer key is included for teachers.
This product is aligned to the following state standard:
Compare two fractions with different numerators and different denominators, e.g., by creating common denominators or numerators, or by comparing to a benchmark fraction such as 1/2. Recognize that comparisons are valid only when the two fractions refer to the same whole. Record the results of comparisons with symbols >, =, or <, and justify the conclusions, e.g., by using a visual fraction model.
I hope you and your students find this resource beneficial and fun! Please remember to leave feedback!
