### PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

These student friendly anchor charts can be used as mini-posters on display as well as for student math notebooks. Teaching students these strategies will enable them to reason about the size of fractions by thinking through logical steps that make sense to them. Strategies are intentionally sequenced to match the comparing fraction standards in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.
3rd grade skills for comparing fractions:
* reasoning about the size of fractions with common denominators
* reasoning about the size of fractions with common numerators
4th grade skills for comparing fractions:
* reasoning about the size of fractions with related common denominators
* reasoning about the size of fractions by generating common numerators
* reasoning about the size of fractions by comparing to 1/2 or 1.
* reasoning about the size of fractions by closeness to 1/2 or 1.
5th grade skills for comparing fractions:
* reasoning about the size of any fractions by generating common denominators using area models.
