Product Description
In this 3rd grade Common Core activity students will compare fractions by using their knowledge of benchmark fractions (1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 2/3, 3/4) and associated fractions such as 4/4 = 1 and 3/6 = 1/2. This worksheet includes pictures to aid the student's in their practice if needed. I have created this worksheet with the same problems in three different formats.

The first worksheet has the fractions and empty circles for the students to draw & shade fractional pieces to use to compare and to show their rationale for choosing which is bigger.

The second sheet has the fractions and circles that are already partitioned into fractional pieces. The students just have to shade in the circles to match the fractions before comparing them.

The third sheet has the fractions, circles that are partitioned and shaded in for those students who have greater needs.

All three sheet have the same problems-it's just that the sheets are scaffolded to meet the individual abilities of your students.
