This 3rd grade Common Core activity will compare fractions with the same numerators, but different denominators. I have created this worksheet with the same problems in three different formats.
The first worksheet has the fractions and empty circles for the students to draw & shade fractional pieces to use to compare & to show their rationale for choosing which is bigger.
The second sheet has the fractions and circles that are already partitioned into fractional pieces. The students just have to shade in the circles to match the fractions before comparing them.
The third sheet has the fractions, circles that are partitioned and shaded in for those students who have greater needs.
All three sheet have the same problems-it's just that the sheets are scaffolded to meet the individual abilities of your students.
This includes an answer key.
Check out my other fraction activities! (Including more practice with different denominators and others with different numerators!)
