Hello teachers and parents!
It is so important for students to understand multiple representations of fractions. This activity and lesson plan helps students compare fractions using drawings and number lines, as well as by finding fractions of a whole number (1/2 of 12 is 6) and describing reasoning with words (I know 3/4 is greater than 1/2 because 2/4 is equal to 1/2).
This activity comes with a worksheet and lesson plan (learning target, Common Core standards, directions, and discussion questions). The worksheet is a great way for students to show their thorough understanding of fractions in a portfolio or for a bulletin board display.
I hope you enjoy this activity!
