Print, cut, and laminate the task cards. There are 24 cards with specific methods for comparing fractions with unlike denominators on each card. Students will need to show that they understand each method to complete the cards. Most task cards only ask the students to compare two fractions. However, there are cards that ask the students to compare 3 fractions with unlike denominators. There are also some cards that let the students decide what method they would like to use.
Students should have a separate space to complete/ show work. I have my students use whiteboards. Binder paper or a notebook would work as well. Students can use the number lines/ drawing pages to show their work or have students use who need extra help with spacing and organization. Just print and laminate the cards. Have students use expo marker on the sheets so they are easy to clean.
