Looking for a way to tie the Winter Olympics into your classroom?
This activity is the perfect way to assess student’s ability to compare and order fractions in a real world setting, while incorporating the Olympic games. This activity is super easy to prep and implement in the classroom.
*Print and laminate the cards and place randomly around the room.
*Students will walk around and record the fraction for each country on their recording sheet.
*Two recording sheets are provided in order to differentiate and meet your student’s needs! One requires the students to divide the circles prior to shading, and one has circles that are already divided.
*Once they have modeled their fractions they will rank countries from 1st to 3rd place depending on the fraction of medals won for each sport.
