This activity will help students review and compare the five methods of solving a quadratic equation: graphing, factoring, square root property, completing the square, and quadratic formula. Included is a practice worksheet for either Algebra 1 or Algebra 2 (two separate sheets), containing 5 problems to be completed individually or in pairs. Then, as a Think-Pair-Share, students can use these problems to discuss what method they used to solve each problem and why. The Algebra 2 worksheets contains an equation with complex solutions.
After discussing when to use each method, students complete a foldable for their notes to help them remember when it is best to use each method.
