Product Description
This activity aligns with Virginia mathematics SOL 2.10 in which students compare different amounts of money by using the comparison words "greater than," "less than," and "equal to."

Students use these work mats with plastic coin money. Then they will use the words and the symbols to compare the sets of money. This activity can be used as whole class instruction, small group instruction, or as a math workstation. All three applications have been used in my second grade classroom. As a workstation, I laminate the work mats and comparison symbols/words. That way students can write the amounts with dry erase markers. I make this a game and have students work in partners. Each partner "pinches" an amount of plastic coins with their fingers and sorts the coins in the boxes!

Thank you so much for visiting my TPT store. Happy Teaching!
