This Comparing Numbers Activities BUNDLE includes three different activities to help students with learning how to compare numbers.
The first activity is called Comparing Numbers "War." This activity contains number cards and cover cards. Print the cover cards and number cards front to back on colorful card stock and laminate to ensure they last. To play the game students pick a partner. Each student gets 15 cards. They place their cards in front of them number side down. They then flip their cards at the same time, and the child with the greater amount wins both cards. They will say "____ is greater than ___." Students will keep playing until one student has all 30 cards or until time is up.
The second activity is called Comparing Numbers Challenge. This activity is played like a board game. The download includes the board, >,<, = gum balls and comparing cards. Print comparing cards on colorful card stock, and laminate. Print gum balls and board on white card stock, and laminate. You will need to also give students a die as well as a game marker for each child. Students will take turn rolling the die and moving the appropriate number of spaces. They will then pick a comparing card and use the gum balls to say whether the quantities given on their card are >,<, or equal too. If they are correct they may stay on their space. If they are incorrect they must go back to their last space. The student who makes it to the end first wins!
The third activity is called "Chewing Up" Number Comparisons. It can be used as either a practice page or a quick assessment. Students solve each comparison sentence on each gum ball to decide if they are greater than, less than, or equal, then color according to the given code. If it is greater than they color the gum ball blue. If it is less than they color the gum ball pink. If it is equal then they color the gum ball green. There are ten gum balls total.
