Students "compete" to collect the GREATEST number of cards. Cards include numerals and words to help students to make connections.

Can be used in small group instruction and as an independent math center.

Comparing Numbers, Base Ten 1.NBT.B3:

Easy print and go activity. I use this in math centers (guided and independent) as well as for quick checks and formative assessments. Clearly labeled target standard on each page (making it a good choice for observation days ;) ).

Students practice using the > < = signs as well as the more challenging skill of counting how many more/less is one set is than another.

Use of base ten blocks makes this extra practice for counting and comparing tens/ones and place value.

Comparing Numbers Task Cards:

Comparing numbers task cards!

Set includes 60 different cards with varying difficulty.

I like to put the pages in sheet protectors or cut and laminate individual cards . This way students can interact with them multiple times as a math center, an exit ticket or a quick formative assessment.

Thank you and happy teaching!
